Final Evaluation (Culture In The Digital Age)

Image
Evaluation So The Culture In The Digital Age documentary is something I made for The BBC northern voices project, more specifically BBC Three. The main purpose of this documentary is to show people how technology has impacted our lives, as well showing off some things people do here in the north. This documentary is also a way in which I can develop my media skills and become more familiar with the industry and the way it works.   The first thing I did was recite the brief and research into The BBC northern voices project. I did this to get a better idea of what I was doing, as well as explain to the client what I am doing to give them a better insight of my project. If I don't do this then my client won't have a clue why I am doing what I'm doing and why I'm doing it. This could lead to a lack of understanding which could confuse the client. If the client is confused then they will most likely be disappointed with me. After this I did some research into documentary st...

My Second Draft Feedback (Culture In The Digital Age)

Image
Here are some screenshots I have took, of the feedback I received on my first draft.  I posted my documentary on a group chat (Teams) and made a google full of questions people could answer.  As a whole everyone liked my documentary and said that it got the point across. Some people liked it so much they even said it was the best documentary they had watched all year. When I asked people on whether or not they liked my edits they said yes. The only real bit of criticism I received was people hating the way I make tea and the sound of the ending credits music was to loud. However it isn't enough to completely change the documentary again so I am happy with this draft. I think the ending was far more fitting and suited to the style of my documentary. That said I will not be making any changes to my documentary because the feedback was overwhelmingly positive.  Robin : I think you have written this very well and it has a strong narrative and it has an ark. You present...

My Culture In The Digital Age Documentary (Final Draft)

Image
This is the final version of my documentary. I changed the ending due to backlash and I now think that the documentary is a lot better than it was before. I made sure to include The BBC's 3 main morals Inform, Educate and Entertain. I hope you enjoy.

My Culture In The Digital Age Posters (Final Poster)

Image
I made this poster on PicsArt. For this one I split my face in 2 halves and added a digital effect. I used a dark background to coincide with the darker ending. I also added the BBC Three logo to my poster. I also made another poster, I will use for my thumbnail, you can see it down below.

Documentary First Draft Feedback (And The Tweaks I Made)

Image
My Documentary Feedback So after I made my documentary, I uploaded it to blogger and shared it to a few people. I got them to watch my documentary and give me their feedback and here is what they had to say. Hollie : I really liked the first part and I can tell you have been doing content creation for 6 years. It might be that less is more and you should perhaps chop down some of they end in order to create a better product.  Janek: I liked the start of the documentary and thought that it was relevant and made sense. I really liked the intro and transitions. That said I think they end part felt like 2 separate ideas put together and I didn't really understand what was happening. You could potentially cut out they end part and add some more content which is like the first part. One thing I've noticed from the feedback is that the vlog style footage idea has flopped and people think that the documentary would be better without it. My original intention for that segment was to app...

Culture In The Digital Age Documentary Poster (First Draft)

Image
I made this poster on PicsArt. I started by using a picture of a smashed white wall as the background, then I over layed a bunch of images. I used bright colours and meme images to draw the attention of younger viewers. It also fits in with that youthful BBC Three vibe.

Disclaimer : I know I come across as a bit of an idiot at certain parts of this documentary but I needed to make it interesting. This means that I had to play things up more in order to create a better documentary. This means that I did say some silly things (mainly towards they end) in order to replicate that silly naive BBC Three youthfulness. I did that for comedic effect, as well as a way to appeal to my target audience.
